News - Verdict against Kamaruzzaman: 2000 cops to be on duty
 Some 2,000 policemen along with Rab members will be on duty in the city to ensure security during the delivery of verdict against war crimes accused Jamaat leader M Kamaruzzaman by the International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Thursday.

The Tribunal is set to deliver the verdict against the Jamaat leader tomorrow (Thursday).

Uniform police and intelligence agency personnel have already been deployed in the city since Wednesday evening.

The movement of people as well as vehicles will be restricted. They will not be allowed from 5:00 am on Thursday through Doel Chattar, High Court Mazar and Kadam Fountain as part of the foolproof security measures.

Besides, several Armor Personnel Carrier (APC) will be deployed in the areas.

The security arrangement has been taken keeping in mind the previous violence that took place during the delivery of  verdict against Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee.

Contacted, deputy commissioner (DC-Ramna division) Maruf said necessary preparation has already taken to avert any untoward incident over the verdict against Jamaat assistant secretary general Kamaruzzaman.
