Awami League General Secretary and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam today said the United States and Canada have a double standard with regards to sending back the fugitive killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The minister said initiatives have already been taken to bring back the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu, adding, “Sometimes we have to go slow in bringing killers back.”

He expressed his optimism about executing the court’s verdict handed down to the killers of Bangabandhu after bringing them back in due course of time.

Informing reporters that Colonel Rashid (one of the killers of Bangabandhu) has now been staying in the United States, Awami League presidium member and former health minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said, “Efforts are on to bring back home other fugitive killers of Bangabandhu.”

  1. Sure the US, Canada etc have double standard. They destroy Iraq, Afghanistan etc in the name of establishing democracy there but fondle Awami leaders who have come to power without popular vote. They put embargo on Modi for communalism but give free access to the autocratic leaders who are running havoc in Bangladesh least caring the people. They should surely be severely criticized for ‘double standard’.
