UAE investment sought for tourism sector

 

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Tuesday sought investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to develop a tourist exclusive zone under public-private partnership at Samarang at Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

 

The minister came up with the request at a meeting with UAE Ambassador in Dhaka Sayeed Bin Hajar at the Secretariat.

 

The UAE envoy told the minister that his country is interested to invest in the development of the tourism industry in Bangladesh.

 

Menon and Hajar also discussed other issues of bilateral trade and cooperation between the two countries.

 

They stressed the need for an air space policy to develop air transportation between the countries.
