Two septuagenarians die from fever, cold in Faridpur

Two septuagenarian men, who had been suffering from fever and cold, have died at the isolation unit of Faridpur Medical College Hospital, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Abu Sheikh, 70, of Murardia village in Madhukhali upazila, and Abdus Salam Matubbar of Raipara Sadardi village in Bhanga upazila of the district.

Civil surgeon Siddiqur Rahman said Abu Sheikh had been suffering from fever, pneumonia and kidney disease for long.

He died at the isolation ward of the hospital on Sunday night.

Abdus Salam had been suffering from respiratory problems and liver disease.

He died at the isolation ward of the hospital on Monday, the civil surgeon said.

Samples were collected from the two victims for test, he said.

Local administration also kept 6-7 houses in their respective villages under lockdown.
