Two bodies of 4 missing students recovered

Of the missing students Uday Hasan and Golam Rahim Bappi have not yet been found

The Coast Guard on Wednesday morning has recovered two bodies of the four missing students of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) who went missing on Monday in Saint Martin Island in the Bay of Bengal.

The bodies were identified as Golam Rahim Bappi and Shahriar Rahman Noman, Teknaf Coast Guard Station Master Kazi Harunur Rashid told the Dhaka Tribune.

Earlier, the coast guard members has informed that one of the body was of Sabbir Hasan, who also went missing in the incident. later, the friends and relatives identified the body as of Bappi’s.

Two students of AUST died and four went missing while swimming near Saint Martin Island in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Montizul Islam, Evan, and Saddam Hossain while the missing were Sabbir Hasan, Shahriar Rahman Noman, Uday Hasan and Golam Rahim Bappi.

A group of 34 students of Ahsanullah University went into the sea for a bath at St Martin Island at around 2pm on Monday. At the time, five students were seen washing away in the Bay. Later, locals and coast guard members rescued them and took them to Teknaf Hospital where two of them were declared dead.

The rest three – Faisal, Farhan and Asif are now taking treatment at the hospital.
