‘Toki was killed at Ajmeri’s office’

Tanvir Mahmud Toki was killed at the business establishment of Ajmeri Osman, son of Jatiya Party MP from Narayanganj-5 Nasim Osman.

Sultan Shawkat Bhramar, an accused in the Toki murder case, said this in his confessional statement he made before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin on Tuesday.

However, another accused Yusuf Hossain Liton in his confessional statement on July 29 said Toki was killed at the house of Saleh Rahman Simanta, son of expelled Jatiya Party leader Haji Ripon.

Yusuf did not mention the involvement of the Osman’s family in the sensational killing.

In an instant reaction, former MP Shamim Osman, also uncle of Ajmeri, said, “This drama (involving his family with the killing) has been staged only keeping in mind the upcoming election.”

He also demanded judicial inquiry into the killing.

Earlier on March 18, Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha organiser Rafiur Rabbi, father of Toki, submitted a written complaint to the police super of Narayanganj naming seven suspects, including Shamim Osman and his son Ayon Osman, in connection with the murder.

On March 8, Toki, 17, was found dead at the riverbank two days after he had gone missing.
