This will be the first international meeting of Tofail Ahmed as commerce minister

Commerce Minister and Advisory Council Member of the ruling Awami League, Tofail Ahmed, is set to visit India for joining a conference of SAARC business leaders.

The two-day conference titled SAARC Business Leaders Conclave (SBLC) is scheduled to begin at New Delhi on January 17.

This would be the first international meeting of Tofail Ahmed as commerce minister of the present government and first ministerial visit in any country after the formation of the new government.

Public Relations Officer of Commerce Ministry Abdul Latif Bakshi told the Dhaka Tribune that the minister was set to visit India with an invitation of Indian commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma.

SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Indian Ministry of Commerce are jointly organising the meeting.

Tofail Ahmed will attend the first session out of six sessions of the meeting as panel discussant.

The participants of the conference will discuss on enhancing regional and financial relations among the SAARC countries, creating employment and ensuring maximum possible use of technologies to create products.

  1. This SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a useless body and an useless minister is spending state money to visit Delhi. Perhaps he is visiting someone else. Who knows?

  2. May be a debriefing on the recent hoax of an election and an introduction to the road map for the next phase of operation “Annex Bangladesh”. And he is not an “useless minister”, by the way. Remember Rokkhi Bahini ? It was Tofail’s “little baby”, planning and coordinating with their Indian masters.

  3. Gentlemen, if you notice, he is only going to attend 1 Session out of the 6 Sessions that are in the agenda. So, what else is there in the actual Agenda, who knows?
