Tigers’ clinch the ODI series

Tigers added more than 100 runs in the last 10 overs.

Host Bangladesh has made an emphatic victory against the Visiting Zimbabwe.

The hosts bundled out the opponent for just 172 runs and completed a massive 124-run victory.

This victory of the third match of the five match ODI series that took place at Mirpur on Wednesday has confirmed the series win for Tigers.

Left handed Spinner Arfat Sunny has wrapped up the Zimbabwe tail with his lethal armers while he registered his best bowling figure of ODI, which is 4 for 27.

Zimbabwe Skipper Chigumbura was stranded not out for 50 on a losing cause as none of his partners could provide him any substantial support.

His counterpart Mashrafe Mortaza has struck early in the Zimbabwe innings picking up two early wickets of the visitors.

The Tigers’ skipper picked up Vusi Sibanda 9 and Hamilton Masakadza 12 within his third over of his first spell.

This is the second time in a row, the leader of Tigers led from front by causing early damage to opponent, but this time it was young Anamul who grabbed the accelade of the player of the match for hismervellous 95 runs innings.

Bangladesh made some quick runs in the slog overs and managed to score 297 in stipulated 50 overs.

Tigers added more than 100 runs in the last 10 overs.

Shakib, Mushfiq, Mahmudullah and Sabbir all played cameos to post the score.

Opener Anamul however, missed his fourth ODI century only for five runs, went to the pavilion at 95 when Bangladesh were 167.

Opener Tamim Iqbal was unfortunately run out as he dropped his bat while running.

He scored 40, but more importantly he made another century stand with co-opener Anamul that gave solid base for later onslaught.

These two made 150 plus partnership on the second match at Chittagong as well.

The visitors have won the toss and opted to field first in the third ODI match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.

Having experienced a torrid year prior to the start of their bilateral series against the Southern African nation, the Tigers have ensured their first ODI series victory against Zimbabwe in nearly four years.
