Father of one of the victims filed a case with Ghatail police station on Monday in this connection.

According to the case statement, four schoolgirls came out of their residences for attending a milad mahfil at SE Girls’ High School on Sunday.

However, instead of going to the school, they along with two of their male friends – Hridoy and Shahin – went to visit cantonment fire range by an auto-rickshaw at Satkura.

The victims managed to reach the relative’s house of one of them and informed the parents of the matter.

Later, guardians informed the matter to police and police rescued the girls and arrested two suspects over the incident.

The victims were taken to Tangail General Hospital for medical test, said Maksudul Alam, officer-in-charge of Ghatail police station.

Police were carrying out drives to arrest other culprits, he said.
