Three medicine theft held at DMCH

The arrestees are Jashim, Rafiq and Sagar

Three individuals connected to a medicine smuggling operation were held at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for allegedly stealing medicine from the hospital, on Saturday morning.

The arrestees are Jashim, Rafiq and Sagar.

“The Ansar members of DMCH caught Jashim while he was roaming around the hospital premises while carrying a bag. They searched his bag and found medicine stolen from the hospital,” DMCH Director Brigadier General Mostafizur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune.

He also said, after Jashim’s interrogation, the Ansar men were later able to arrest two other individuals in connection with the illegal drug trade, from the hospital premises.

A case has been filed with Shahbagh police station in connection to this, while the trio was sent to Shahbagh police station.

All detainees are outsiders, however Rafiq was a special employee of the hospital who had earlier been held twice for the same charges and had been fired.
