Three bodies found after five children go missing in Matamuhuri

The dead bodies of three of the five children who went missing in the Matamuhuri River have been found.

At 7:15pm Saturday, rescuers from the local administration found three of the children dead a little downstream from where they had gone bathing near the Matamuhuri Bridge along

Chittagong – Cox’s Bazar Highway, said Chakaria Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Nuruddin Md Shibli Noman.

The five children, all boys from the local Grammar School, went bathing in the river around 4pm after playing football on the banks. Another boy was recovered alive soon after.

The children are Sayeed, Aminul Hossain, Farhan, Turjo Bhattacharya and Sohrab Hossain.

Grammar School teacher Jahedul Islam said the boys went to play football after attending their final exams.
