A meeting regarding the security measures for players of the Sri Lankan Cricket team was held between the delegations of the ICC, the Sri Lankan cricket board and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authorities
The Sri Lankan Cricket Board members and ICC representatives have expressed their satisfaction over the security plans projected by the law enforcers over Asian Cup, T-20 World cup scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in February.
DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed told the reporters after a meeting between the delegations of the ICC and Sri Lankan Cricket Board and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authorities over the security measures for the players of the Sri Lankan Cricket team.
The meeting was held at the DMP headquarters at around 11:30am on Tuesday where the representatives from ICC, Sri Lankan Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board and the senior officials of the DMP were present.
Amid the unstable law and order situation due to political unrest, the Sri Lankan Cricket team is expected to come to Bangladesh on a tour this month while the Asian Cup T-20 World Cup is expected to be held in the February.
At the end of the meeting, the DMP Commissioner told journalists that the representatives from ICC, Sri Lankan Cricket Board and even of the Bangladesh Cricket Board have been assured that they will be provided with foolproof security.
“The DMP ensures security to all the cricketers and the matches”, the Commissioner said, adding: “The players of the Pakistan Cricket team will also be provided the same security measures.”
