The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against key figure in the railwaygate scandal Faruque on August 14, 2012 on charge of amassing wealth of Tk 1.47 through illegal means.

Earlier on October 2, Faruque surrendered to the HC seeking anticipatory bail in the case. The HC after holding a hearing on the petition granted him an ad-interim bail for a period of eight weeks.
