Sunrisers clinch IPL title, Mustafiz shines in final

Mustafizur Rahman played his part as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in the final to clinch their maiden Indian Premier League title on Sunday.
Mustafiz grabbed 1-37 as Sunrisers successfully defended a total 208-7, set up by David Warner’s 38-ball 69 and Ben Cutting’s 15-ball 39.
With 18 needed off last over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who bowled 13 dot balls gave only 9 runs to restrict Royal Challengers to 200-7 for the thrilling win.
In a battle between IPL’s best batting and bowling line-ups, the Orange Army came up trumps despite initial blitzkrieg from Chris Gayle (76 off 38 balls) and Kohli ( 54 off 35 balls), who threatened to take the game away with 114-run opening stand.
Mustafiz stood tall to concede just four runs in his first over amid free flowing of runs before he finished with the wicket of Shane Watson. His figure could have been much better if two catches were not dropped off his bowling.
The prodigious Bangladeshi bowler finished the tournament with 17 wickets at the economy rate of 6.90, – the best among all bowlers who bowled at least 10 overs in the tournament.
Mustafiz, who returned to the action in the final after missing preceding Qualifier for a hamstring niggle, was named emerging player of the tournament for his exploits in the tournament.
