Rebel attacks kill 2 Bangladeshis in KSA

The victims are Mizan and Abdul Jalil

Two Bangladesh nationals have been killed by mortar shells fired by Hauthi rebels of Yemen in Saudi Arabia on May 5 and 6.

The victims are Mizan, son of Mafiz, of Comilla and Abdul Jalil, son of Mr Abdul Aziz, of Barguna, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.

According to the press note, both the migrant workers were killed while working at their respective work places in Najran area, South Eastern Province of (650 km away from Jeddah and 50 km from Yemen border) Saudi Arabia.

Representatives of Bangladesh Consulate General, Jeddah, visited the area immediately after the incident. They also have contacted the employers of the victims as well as family members in Bangladesh.

Mortal remains are preserved in the mortuary of the King Khaled Hospital in Najran.

Bangladesh Consulate General, Jeddah, is coordinating with the employers would send back the mortal remains and/or arrange burial in line with the desire of the family members of the victims, as well as for realization of due compensation.
