Rana Plaza: British HC mourns deaths

British High Commissioner Robert W Gibson has expressed his condolences for those who died in the Rana Plaza collapse at Savar.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of so many lives and the injury to so many people at Savar today. My prayers and thoughts reach out to the family and friends of all those affected at this tragic time,” he said in a statement.

At least 80 bodies have been recovered so far from the ruins of the eight-storied Rana Plaza in Savar that collapsed Wednesday morning.

More than 800 people were injured in what is easily one of the worst instances of building collapse ever in Bangladesh.
