Ramu attack ‘perpetrator’ held

Member of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday recovered two foreign made pistols behind the Cox’s Bazar Government College after interrogating a Jamaat leader who was arrested earlier in the day.

Rab-7 arrested Shahidul Islam Bahadur Prakash alias VP Bahadur, a senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Cox’s Bazar unit, from a bus at Ramu in Chittagong on charge of his alleged involvement in the attack on Buddhist monasteries in Ramu on September 29.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion-7 also seized Tk 50,000 and his passport from the college area based on the information that VP Bahadur gave in a primary interrogation, Major Sarwar-E-Alam, in charge of Cox’s Bazar camp claimed.
