Ramadan begins Tuesday, June 7

The moon has reportedly been sighted by officials in Bangladesh which confirms that Ramadan will start on Tuesday, June 7.

Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, is religiously important for the Muslims. It is a time when Muslims throughout the world will focus on prayer, fasting, charity and religious devotion.

The last third of Ramadan is particularly holy period as the Quran’s first verses were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad on this period of time.

Throughout the month, the Muslim will be seen fasting from dawn to dusk and keeping themselves busy in prayer and charity works with a view to attaining solemnity and peace in their lives.

As Ramadan starts tomorrow (June 7) that means Eid Ul Fitr, the biggest religiousl festive of Muslims, is likely to be on July 7 or 8.
