Rajan murder case: Verdict on Nov 8

A Sylhet metropolitan sessions judges’ court on Tuesday said it will deliver the verdict in the sensational murder of Samiul Alam Rajan nearly four months after lynching of the teenager.
Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha set the date after completion closing arguments of the defence counsels.
The public prosecutor of the court, Mafur Ali, confirmed the verdict schedule.
Thirty six prosecution witnesses out of 38 already testified in the murder case.
The 13-year-old boy, Rajan, was beat to death on allegation of ‘stealing’ a rickshaw van by the prime accused Kamrul, a resident of Sheikhpara of sadar upazila, his brother Ali Haidar, Muhith Alam and Shamim Ahmad and their associates on July 8.
Locals caught Muhith when he and his associates were trying to dump the body at a remote place near Kumargaon bus terminal in the city and handed him over to the police.
Kamrul, who left the country after murder, was brought back to Bangladesh recently from Saudi Arabia. His younger brother Shamim Ahmad and another youth Pavel Ahmad, who were also charged in the killing, had gone into hiding since filing of the case on July 8.
