Railways minister ties the knot

Denmohor of the wedding has been set at Tk5 lakhs and one

Railways Minister Mujibul Hoque gets married ending his bachelor life at the age of 67.

Formalities of the wedding was completed around 4:40pm in the bride’s own village Mirakhula in Chandina upazila of the district.

The groom’s procession reached Comilla around 3pm.

Meanwhile, money and mobile phone handsets of around 50 guests including Abdul Matin Khashru MP were stolen during the wedding ceremony. Police detained a pickpocket from the wedding venue.

Women and Children Affairs Minister Meher Afroz Chumki, Abdul Matin Khashru MP, Ali Ashraf MP, Tajul Islam MP, Deputy Inspector General of Police Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Comilla Hasanuzzaman Kollol, Superintendent of Police in Comilla Tutul Chakrabarty were among the guests.

The minister started for Dhaka with his newlywed bride around 5:30pm.

The reception ceremony will be held at LD Hall of the parliament building on November 14.

Born in 1947, the lawyer-cum-politician was elected as lawmaker thrice.

Former foreign minister Abdus Samad Azad in 1998 and former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru in the late 90s got married while holding office. Both of them married when their previous wives passed away.
