Prepare for election, not for resisting it: Hasan

Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday urged the main opposition BNP to get ready for the next polls instead of preparing to resist it.

“Take preparation for the polls as it’ll be pointless for preparing to resist the polls,” he said.

Hasan Mahmud, also the Publicity and Publication secretary of the ruling Awami League, said this while addressing a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Academy at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city.

The minister said there will be no dialogue with them who declared to resist the upcoming polls.

“We’re ready for dialogue, but before holding the dialogue Khaleda Zia will have to make it clear his position whether she actually wants election or wants to resist it,” he added.

Bangabandhu Academy secretary general Humayun Kabir, among others, addressed at the programme held with its adviser Ishtiaue Hossain in the chair.
