Portfolios distributed finally

Two days after the formation of the polls-time government, portfolios have been distributed among some ministers.

A gazette notification will be published in this regard tomorrow, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo tonight quoting sources.

Some ministers have already been informed about their portfolios, the sources added.

Among the newly sworn-in ministers, Tofail Ahmed got the industries and land ministries; Amir Hossain Amu public works, disaster management and food ministries; Rawshan Ershad health ministry; Tofail Ahmed industries and land ministries; Rashed Khan Menon post and telecomunications ministry; Ruhul Amin Hawlader civil aviation ministry; Anisul Islam Mahmud water resources ministry while Salma Islam and Mujibul Haque Chunnu were appointed as the state minsters for Women and Children Affairs and Ministry for Youth and Sports respectively.

Moreover, some ministers have been asked to continue office in their assigned ministeries as before. They are: Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhit, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Planning Minister AK Khandker and Communications Minister Obaidul Quader.

Besides, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali replaced foreign minister Dipu Moni. Earlier, he possessed the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry.
