Police mayhem at a union member’s family

By Nahid Kaizer

Police and joint force members attacked in Pathalia Union Member and BNP leader Aminur’s house in savar at midnight to arrest him on what appears to be a politically motivated case ahead of the BNP’s Road to Democracy March tomorrow. They broke the main door and broke everything in his house such as television, refrigerator and all the window glass. They also behaved rudely with his family member including women and asked for the whereabouts of Aminur. They used cuss words as well. Finding no trace of Aminur, the frustrated law enforcers put water on the clothes and bed sheets of Aminur at his house. Even his old father was not spared from police humiliation. The family members claimed that Aminur is an honest political leader of Jubo Dol (BNP’s youth wing) and his anti government (BNP) political stand was the main cause of their suffering. The general people of that area are feeling insecure since the incident.

  1. There are rumors that infiltration of a neighboring country’s ‘elements’ into our law & order forces has occurred. Do such reports of police action substantiate that rumor? Or how could Bangladeshi law & order forces could inflict such atrocities on their compatriots? It’s really perplexing.
