News - PM slams Khaleda for recent arson attacks on trains
Accusing the opposition of leader of instigating arson attacks on trains in recent months, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday wondered whether Khaleda Zia has any transport business.

“I don’t know, whether she (Khaleda) has any bus business… I can’t tell you that,” she said in her opening remarks at a views-exchange meeting with the grassroots-level Awami League leaders of Madaripur district at her official residence Ganobhaban.

Questioning the reason of setting fire to trains, railway tracks and train compartments, Hasina wanted to know why the opposition leader is so angry with the Bangladesh Railway. “As she doesn’t want people to travel by trains, she wants to create panic.”

Describing the steps taken by her government for the development of the railway sector, she said people can travel by train and transport goods at lower cost.

The Prime Minister said the government wants to rejuvenate the railway sector renovating all the old railway tracks across the country.
