PM says Dhaka’s ties with Beijing are excellent

 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said  Bangladesh has excellent relation with China, a close friend of the country.

Sheikh Hasina made the remarks when Mrs. Yan Junqi, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China met her at her official Ganobhaban residence.

PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil briefed the reporters after the meeting.

Hasina recalled the assistance of the Chinese government in various ongoing projects of Bangladesh for ensuring socio-economic development of the country.

She also called for more exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations alongside the government level visits to further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Besides, Hasina also underlined the need for increased exchange of visits between the youths of the two countries.

In response, Mrs. Yan Junqi said that she had witnessed the trust and confidence of the people of Bangladesh on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit to Bangladesh.

She hoped that the upcoming visit of Sheikh Hasina to China would further strengthen the relationship of the two countries.

She recalled the visit of the Father of the Nation to China.

Yan Jungi said that the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina has enabled the country to gain notable successes in various socio-economic fields.

PM’s Adviser on International Affairs Dr Gowher Rizvi, PMO Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad and PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil were present at the meeting.
