PM performs Umrah, offers Jum’a prayer at Masjidul Haram

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit, performed holy Umrah on Friday.

 

After performing Umrah, Hasina prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the Muslim ummah as well as welfare of Bangladesh and its people. Later, she joined the Jum’a prayer at the Masjidul Haram in Makkah.

 

Later, the Prime Minister and her entourage arrived at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah at 6:10pm, local time (9:10pm BST).

 

Sheikh Hasina earlier today (Friday) arrived in Jeddah on a three-day visit to perform holy Umrah.

 

A  special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and the members of her entourage landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at around 4:00 am local time (7:00 am BST).

 

Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Md Shahidul Islam received the Prime Minister at the airport.

 

Prime Minister’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana is also accompanying her.

 

Hasina is expected to return home early Sunday.
