Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was informed on Wednesday about various steps taken for the development of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd.

Kevin John Steele, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the national flag carrier, briefed the Prime Minister on the steps, taken after his appointment, at a views-exchange meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting.

He said discussions were held in details to further develop Biman and the Prime Minister gave necessary guidelines to the authorities concerned.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Shaikh M Wahid Uz Zaman and other high officials were present.

For the first time in the history of Biman, a foreign national was made its managing director and CEO that too for a handsome Tk 18.3 lakh as monthly salary.

Kevin John Steele of the United Kingdom joined the national flag carrier on March 18 this year.
