PM asks cricketers to prepare for World Cup

 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday asked the cricketers of the national team to prepare with utmost sincerity so that they could perform well in the upcoming World Cup Cricket tournament in 2015.

“I hope our team will play better in the next World Cup cricket…you all must play attentively, you all have to take preparations with utmost sincerity so that you could perform well in the matches,” she said.

The Prime Minister said this when the ICC Trophy of the next World Cup was taken to Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister, to show her.

Sheikh Hasina also emphasized more practice by the national team players ahead of the World Cup and said the national team will go to the venue two weeks ahead of the tournament to adjust themselves in the new condition.

The next World Cup Cricket will be held from February 14 to March 29 next year. Australia and New Zealand are jointly hosting the World Cup where 14 teams will vie for the Cup.

Bangladesh will play their first match on February 18 against Afghanistan at Canberra, Australia.

From the Ganobhaban, the Cup will be taken to Basundhara City Shopping, enabling people to see it till tomorrow (Saturday).

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon, MP, former national team captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy, MP and other high officials of the BCB were present.
