People won’t support Khaleda’s anti-govt movement after Eid: AL

As the BNP chief has declared to wage movement after holy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr and the people waiting with anxiety to see what is in store, the ruling Awami League thinks the call of Khaleda Zia will not get any support from the mass people.

“BNP has below 10 percent chance to become successful in waging anti-government movement after Eid,” AL presidium member Kazi Zafarullah told UNB over telephone on Wednesday.

He said people want peace and that is what they are having right now. People will not welcome any sort of inconvenient situation for them in the name of anti-government movement.

Another presidium member of the ruling party, Nuh-Ul-Alam Lenin termed the call of anti-government movement as a “political stunt” of the BNP and its chief Khaleda Zia.

“This is simply a political stunt of the BNP and they will surely not get any support from the mass people,” he said over telephone on Tuesday.

Lenin said that the BNP is now under depression as they are failing to do their politics as the opposition party and totally in trouble to wage any strong movement against the government.

He said the BNP is also in trouble with its own party. “They have to keep their party in good shape first to go for any anti-government movement.”

The AL presidium member questioned is anything big happened in the country that the people will join the anti-government movement of the BNP after Eid?

“BNP chief said this just to warm up her party men, nothing else,” he said.

Lenin also questioned how the party that have acting secretary general for a decade would wage movement against a government like Awami League.

Kazi Zafarullah hinted that the BNP might have got signal from a foreign source to go for anti-government movement. “I think Khaleda Zia got the signal from ISI like the previous time,” he said.

In this connection, he said that Khaleda Zia declined to participate in the last general election after getting signal from ISI. “She is now thinking that by putting pressure, she will be successful to hold another election, which is just a day dream.”

Zafarullah said that Khaleda Zia made a political blunder by not taking part in the January 5 parliamentary election. “People will not welcome her new move to wage anti-government movement.”

He said the country is now running very peacefully and all the economic indicators are in good shape. “So, there is no reason for the mass people to jump in to join the anit-government movement after Eid.”

Recently, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia several times warned that her party would go for a tougher movement across the country after Eid-ul-Fitr in a bid to oust the government from power.
