People want unconditional Hasina-Khaleda talks: Obaidul

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said country’s people want to see an open and unconditional dialogue between Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

“Country’s people don’t want to see a violent movement as the opposition is causing destruction to the country through enforcing hartals and killing people. So, they want to see open and unconditional talks between the two leaders,” he said while speaking at a programme at Kalamunshi Bazar in his constituency Kabirhat.

Observing that the opposition has become alienated from people by enforcing programmes like hartals, Obaidul said this is not good for any political party.

He also urged them to sit in dialogue to ensure the holding of the next general election with the participation of all political parties.
