The court has fixed August 11 for the cross-examination of Oishee’s friends Rony and Jony
Oishee Rahman did not murder her parents, Moshiur Rahman Rubel, Oishee’s uncle and also the plaintiff of the case over the murder of Special Branch police officer Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife, has said.
He said: “I believe that my niece did not murder her parents.”
Rubel made the statement while giving his deposition before Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Johirul Hoque on Tuesday afternoon.
In his deposition, he said: “As my brother used to work for the political side, miscreants might have killed the couple over previous feud, sometime in between August 15 to August 16, 2013.”
Meanwhile, the cross-examination of Oishee has ended.
The Court also fixed August 11 for the cross-examination of Oishee’s friends Rony and Jony.
Police recovered the bodies of police Inspector of Special Branch Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Begum from their Chamelibagh residence on August 16. Their bodies bore multiple stab wounds, which forensic experts believed, were the work of amateurs.
