Prominent Nazrul exponent Sudhin Das passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday.

He was 87.

The singer breathed his last at Apollo Hospitals Dhaka around 8:20pm, said family sources.

Sudhin Das was taken to a private clinic at Kalyanpur in the morning after he caught fever and vomited. He was later admitted to the Apollo Hospitals.

The body will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar from 11:00am on Wednesday so that people from all walks of life can pay their last respects to the prominent singer.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the death of eminent Nazrul singer and researcher Sudhin Das.

In a condolence message, she recalled the contribution of Sudhin Das in the music arena.

She also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor also expressed deep shock at the death of Sudhin Das.
