Minu calls govt ‘a govt of Awami police’

BNP joint secretary general Mizanur Rahman Minu on Friday described the present government as the ‘government of Awami police’.

“It’s not the people’s government but of Awami police,” he said while addressing a press briefing at Joypurhat Press Club.

The press conference was arranged in the run-up to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s rally in the district on Sunday.

Observing that people want to move and speak like free birds, Minu, also former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, alleged that the government is sucking the blood of the country’s 16 crore people like octopuses and poisonous spiders.

He noted that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will give a new direction for resuming anti-government movement after Eid-ul-Fitr from the rally she is going to address on Sunday.

Minu said, “Khalada Zia will give the nation a message, a new direction for igniting movement against the oppression of the present illegal government.”
