Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday said her meeting with visiting Indian prime minister Narendra Modi was very fruitful.
‘The meeting with Modi was very fruitful,’ she told reporters while leaving Sonargaon Hotel after the meeting, reports United News of Bangladesh.
The party standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan later briefed the reporters. He said the BNP delegation had discussions over the current situation of democracy in the country.
Replying to another question he said, ‘We talked to him over democracy of our country as he practices democracy and became Prime Minister of India from the grassroots level. I will urge all to take lessons from Narendra Modi’s ideology.
‘During the meeting, we emphasized strengthening relations of the people of the two countries. Governments will come and go but people will remain the same,’ he said.
Asked about Modi’s response over the current situation of democracy, Moyeen Khan said, ‘Now, I won’t tell anything. It’s a matter of the Indian government. They will say.’
