Medical team at Khaleda’s office

A five-member medical team Monday noon entered BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office in city’s Gulshan area where she has been staying since January 5.

Sources said that the medical team led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) former vice-chancellor (VC) M Tahir, consists of Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital cardiology and medicine specialist Professor M Tawhidul Haque, Orthopedic Hospital Professor Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Savar Enam Medical College and Hospital’s anesthesia and ICU department Assistant Professor SM Rafiqul Islam and Apollo Hospitals’ Mirpur unit nurse Labony.

The medical team, before entering Khaleda’s chamber, claimed that they were entering there to checkup the BNP chief’s health condition.

However, according to sources, the doctors entered the office around 3:00pm.

“We are not involved with politics,” said Dr Tahir. “We are here because of a call from Khaleda Zia’s personal doctor,” he said.
