Dhaka police have announced large bounties for the capture of six top Ansarullah operatives.
The Dhaka Metro Police announced on their website that they have identified these six on the basis of previous investigations and admission of a couple of Ansarullah Bangla Team operatives who had been captured from one of the dens.
These six include operatives who provide military training, recruit and induct new operatives, and provide it training.
Totaling Tk 18 lakhs for the six individuals, the bounty will be given out to information leading to their capture.
Of the six, DMP announced Tk 5 lakh each for Sharif and Selim while Tk 2 lakh each for Sifat, Raju, Shihab and Sazzad.
Sharif alias Shariful alias Sakib alias Saleh alias Hadi-1 gives military and IT training to the Ansarullah members. He is also involved in recruiting new members for ABT. The intelligence unit of police have found direct involvement of Sharif in Avijit, Niladri, Ahmed Rashid and Morshed Babu murders.
Selim alias Iqbal alias Mamun alias Hadi-2 is a top organizer of ABT. Police found his direct involvement in Blogger Washikur Babu, Arefin Dipan, Kalabagan Double murder, Niladri Niloy and Blogger Nazimuddin Samad murder.
Sifat also known as Samir, Imran hails from Sylhet district. He is a top military operative of the organization and had direct involvement in publisher Dipan murder. DMP said he trained up the militants who participated in the killings of Dipan. Sifat was also involved in the murder of Riyad Morshed, a student of Shanto Mariam University.
ABT member Raju was also known as Samad, Sujan, Salman, Saad inside the organization. Police found his link in the attempt of the murder of publisher Ahmed Rashis Tutul. He also trained the militants who took part in that killing mission.
Shihab alias Sumon alias Saiful is a member of military wing of the organization. DMP confirmed that they have evidence of his involvement in Ahmed Tutul murder attempt.
Another ABT member Sazzad also known as Sajib, Siyam, Shams is a member of military wing and took part in many operations for the organization. He is directly involved in the killings of Avijit Roy, Niladri Nil and Morshed Babu.
