Khaleda Zia on killing mission: PM Hasina

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday sought cooperation of the people who want peace and development and have faith in the spirit of War of Liberation, to trace out the persons and their masterminds behind the recent clandestine killings saying it’s time to forge unity again to resist the evil forces.
She said perpetrators of bomb attacks and arsonists could not be successful in 2013 and 2015 as common people came forward in their resistance. Similarly common people have to come forward to find out the perpetrators of the secret killings, she said.
Sheikh Hasina was addressing a huge public meeting at city’s Suhrawardy Uddayan organized by Bangladesh Awami League marking the Jail Killing Day in commemoration of the brutal killing of the country’s four national leaders inside Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975, BSS reports.
The  Awami League Chie ,  however,  blamed  her    rival  Khaleda Zia  saying   that  BNP  chief  now started secret killings as she had been rejected by the people for her destructive politics like burning innocent citizens to death with petrol bombs.
Sheikh Hasina further alleged that politically failed BNP leader is now assassinating Awami League leaders, activists, writers, publishers and foreigners in her evil bid to tarnish the country’s image aboard.
‘Suffering a political defeat in her efforts to topple the present government through killing people in the name of hartal and blockade, the BNP leaderhas now engaged in a killing mission for tainting the country’s image,’ Hasina said.
‘Whenever there have been investigations into any killing, it was found that the killers were either engaged in Chhatra Shibir or Chhatra Dal politics during their student lives,’ she added.
Recalling the memory of killings of the four national leaders inside jail, the Premier lamented that the killers had not been brought to book, rather they were awarded in various ways. The trail of murderers was halted through imposing an indemnity ordinance by Ziaur Rahman.
“It was Ziaur Rahman who after Khandker Moshtaq Ahmed rehabilitated the killers,” the PM said.
On November 3 in 1975, the four national leaders and heroes of country’s Liberation War – Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman- were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.

Inu  blames  Khaleda Tareq
Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Tuesday said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman have been trying to contact  with international underworld don Daud Ibrahim in order to create an unstable situation in the country through subversive activities and sabotage.
“We have this primary information that we got from investigation,” Inu added.
The minister came up with the remarks while talking to the reporters at a press briefing at PID conference center in the secretariat.
Khaleda Zia in association with Jamaat has been leading the militant activities in the country and the BNP chief is the villain of the politics now, Inu alleged.
“We are not blaming BNP-Jamaat alliance. But we have been taking actions as per the law against the militants who are carrying out subversive activities following Khaleda’s order,” Inu added.
Khaleda has been creating militants, terrorists whether she holds power or not, said the lawmaker.
Mentioning Khaleda’s statement in which she said recently in London that a monarchy has been installed in the country and a lady Hitler (Hasina) is controlling it, Inu said these types of statement are not appropriate (Bhuter Mukhe Ram Nam) for Khaleda who is the wife of a former military ruler.
Khaleda doesn’t understand monarchy and democracy, Inu alleged.
The minister said Khaleda and her party are opposed to national unity. The national unity for Khaleda means validating war criminals, he added.
Red alerts were not issued in the country when BNP-Jamaat alliance carried out subversive activities throughout the country in 2013 or when some miscreants attacked Anwar Chowdhury, former High Commissioner of Bangladesh in United Kingdom, Inu claimed.
Inu also said there is politics in issuing red alerts following the killings of foreign nationals in the country.
