BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is willing to surrender to the court, her lawyer Khandaker Mahbub Hossain told newsmen on Tuesday.
“The arrest warrant is yet to reach the police. Still if she is to appear before the court, to surrender, she is willing to do so,” the Supreme Court Bar Association president said.
He was talking to newsmen at his chamber in the Supreme Court in the afternoon.
“Khaleda Zia is suffering from insecurity. She will not be allowed to enter her office once she gets out of it in order to detach her from the people,” Mahbub alleged.
Considering all these issues and showing respect to the court, Khaleda Zia may go to the court if she is assured of adequate security, he added.
“But the government has to ensure that no such thing will happen to her and she will be allowed to enter her office again and live her normal life,” Mahbub said.
