BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was also present.

Meeting sources said Khaleda was discussing with the intellectuals and professionals various issues like the country’s latest political situation, city corporation polls, Tarique Rahman’s homecoming, caretaker government, and the opposition’s movement.

She was also sharing ideas with them about the possible line of action of the opposition to force the government to restore the caretaker government system to oversee the next general election.

Some intellectuals were learned to have suggested the opposition leader to work out a well-thought-out plan to realise the opposition’s demand for restoration of the caretaker system.

Khaleda sought support from them to make the 18-party’s ongoing movement a success, the sources said.
