At least 19 people including a journalist and a policeman were burnt when miscreants set fire to a passenger bus near Matsya Bhaban in the capital during opposition-enforced blockade this evening.
A gang of unknown miscreants set fire to the bus of Bihanga Paribahan with gun powder around 6:30pm, Shibli Noman, assistant commissioner of Ramna division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told The Daily Star.
Witnesses said two people riding a motorbike hurled a bottle loaded with flammable liquid at the vehicle and left away.
Panicked by arson, the driver lost his control over the steering and hit the road divider.
The injured were rushed to DhakaMedicalCollegeHospital.
