Izharul, his son charged for Ctg Madrasah blast

 

Police on Monday submitted chargesheet against nine people, including nayeb-e-ameer of Hefajat-e-Islam Mufti Izharul Islam and his son Harun Izharul a case filed in connection with a blast at a madrasah in the port city.

 

Khulshi thana officer-in-charge and investigation officer of the case Md Lokman Hossain submitted the chargesheet before the Metropolitan Magistrate Mashiur Rahman Chowdhury’s court.

 

The other accused are Abdul Hye alias Salman, Habibur Rahman, Mohammd Ishaq, Monir hOssain, Abdul Mannan, Tafsir Ahmed and Mohammad Junayed.

 

Three people, including two students, were killed and several others injured in an explosion in a room of afour-storey hostel of Jamiatul Ulum Islami Madrasah at Lalkhan Bazar in the city on October 7,2013.

 

Police recovered huge explosives making materials, four unexploded grenades from the surrounding areas of the madrasah.  The explosion is believed to have taken place while making bombs.

 

Three cases, including one under Explosives Act and another under Acid Act, were filed with Khulshi police station accusing 12 people.
