The Hefajat-e Islam, a Chittagong-based Islamist group holding a “so-called” long march today, has 12 other demands apart from the arrest of “atheist bloggers”.
People in general are taken aback by the strangeness of such demands.
The 13 points are:
- Reinstate the phrase “Absolute trust and faith in the Almighty Allah” in the constitution as one of the fundamental principles of state policy.
- Pass a law keeping a provision of capital punishment for maligning Allah, Islam and Prophet Muhammad and smear campaigns against Muslims.
- Punish the “atheist” leaders of Shahbagh, bloggers and anti-Islamists who make “derogatory comments” about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
- Stop killing, attacking and shooting Islamic scholars and madrasa students.
- Free all the arrested Islamic scholars and madrasa students.
- Lift restrictions on mosques and remove obstacles to holding religious programmes.
- Declare Qadianis (Ahmadiyyas) non-Muslim and stop their publicity and conspiracies.
- Ban all foreign culture including free mixing of men and women and candlelit vigil.
- Stop setting up sculptures at intersections, colleges and universities across the country.
- Make Islamic education mandatory from primary to higher secondary levels after scrapping women policy and education policy.
- Stop threatening teachers and students of Qawmi madrasas, Islamic scholars, imams and khatibs.
- Stop creating hatred against Muslims among young generation by misrepresentation of Islamic culture in the media.
- Stop anti-Islam activities by NGOs, evil attempts by Qadianis and conversion by Christian missionaries at Chittagong Hill Tracts and elsewhere in the country.

It is heart warming to see the leaders of the Bangladeshi political parties one after another coming to Hefazat-e-Islam Moncho and extending their all out support for Islam. The demarcation is clear now :” APOSTATE-ATHEISTS-COMMUNIST-GHADANIK TERMITES UNDER THEIR QUEEN HASINA VS THE MUSLIM UMMAH. APOSTATE-TERMITES’ SAND CASTLE WOULD BE DESTROYED, INSHA-ALLAH WITH THEIR QUEEN INSIDE IT. Lets recite the HOLY verses of the most glorious Quran AND CELEBRATE:
(1) ” TO YOU ( O PROPHET) WE HAVE GRANTED THE ABUNDANCE (KAWSAR). THEREFORE TO YOUR LORD TURN IN PRAYER & OFFER SACRIFICE. FOR HE WHO HATES YOU HE WILL BE CUT OFF” .
(2) “WHEN COMES THE HELP OF ALLAH AND VICTORY YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE ENTERS ALLAH’S DIN (PRESCRIBED WAY OF LIFE) IN CROWDS. CELEBRATE THE PRAISE OF YOUR LORD & PRAY . SEEK HIS PARDON. HE IS EVER DISPOSED TO MERCY” –
(3) “TRUTH HAS COME, FALSEHOOD WOULD PARISH, BY ITS VERY NATURE ITS BOUND TO PARISH”.

This news writer seems to be a ‘gyanpapi’ (willful sinner). Who are the ‘people in general’ and who were assembled in the Hefazat gathering? How could he be sure that ‘people in general were taken aback’? In fact some irresponsible and motivated journalists make things even worse by ‘yellow journalism’. May be there are a few demands which may be somewhat incongruous with the present day situation; but on the whole many of their demands have justifiable grounds in so far as Islam is concerned. He did not see anything wrong with the rising wave of cultural invasion that’s been aimed at corroding Islamic values and tradition through a derailed section of so-called free-thinkers such as of Projonmo Chattar? And who does not know that cultural invasion is much more frightening and enduring than military invasion? Physical slavery can be shaken off sooner or later but cultural slavery is by far the more difficult to be free of. Keeping that in view, the demands, at least two thirds of them, have undeniable justifiability.
