The continued sweltering heat, coupled with frequent power cuts, has thrown the normal life across the country out of gear.
It is unlikely to get relief from the heat in the next two days as the chances of rainfall are slim, according to Met office, according to UNB.
Many preferred to remain indoors as it has become difficult to take a walk or travel outside, as a heat wave is now sweeping the country. Day-labourers have been the worst victims.
The heat wave is likely to continue for another two days, meteorologist at Bangladesh Meteorology Department Ruhul Kuddus told UNB.
The country’s highest temperature 37.4 degree Celsius was recorded in Satkhira on Wednesday and it was 36.2 degrees, he said.
The day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country on Thursday, Ruhul said describing the rise in temperature as normal in summer.
Meanwhile, many places across the country, including the capital, was experiencing frequent power cuts every day over the last several days, worsening the people’s sufferings.
