The HC bench of Justice Justice Moinul Islam and Justice Ashraful Kamal passed the order on Sunday in response to a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.

The court ordered removal of the illegal structures at Shyambazar, Bina Srity (Wise Ghat) and Badamtoili points of the river.

It ordered the authority concerned to form a mobile court to check on further construction of illegal structures and submit a report in this regard every three months.

The court asked Dhaka police commissioner, Environment Department director and the officer-in-charges of Kotwali, Sutrapur and Shyambazar police stations to inform the court on December 7 regarding their steps taken on the basis of its order.

The court also said further order regarding the matter will be given on December 11.
