To foil the election, BNP-Jamaat launched brutal attacks killing people, says PM

Prime Minister and ruling Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has pledged to build a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh with the spirit of liberation war.

The premier made the vow while addressing the Awami League rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Friday afternoon.

“We will not let anyone play with the fate of the people of Bangladesh,” said Hasina.

She also urged all to stay united and combat all evil forces.

Sheikh Hasina has marked the Suhrawardi Udyan (erstwhile racecourse) as a significant place throughout the history of Bangladesh in the process of nation making.

She said Bangabandhu gave the nation with the constitution and initiated the war crimes trial.

“Ziaur Rahman killed thousands of personnel of the armed forces, as his regime had witnessed consecutive coups,” said Hasina.

Likewise, BNP and Jamaat regimes run the same killing all over the country irrespective of religions along with thousands of Awami League activists, she added.

Sheikh Hasina said Ziaur Rahman and his party always patronised and awarded the killers of Bangabandhu.

“To foil the latest election, BNP and Jamaat have launched brutal attacks and killed people, cut trees, destroyed roads and communications in the name of movement,” the Awami League president said.

However, they failed and Bangladesh is still going ahead. The economic growth, export increased despite the political unrest that BNP-Jamaat created, said Hasina.

She said her government has increased the production of electricity, the living standards, recovered the money Khaleda Zia’s sons laundered and the country’s image that was disgraced during the BNP’s tenure.
