Officials have said 98 pilgrims from the country have been missing since the incident.
There have been no official confirmation of any Bangladesh national among the victims of the stampede in Mina during Hajj.
The Bangladesh embassy in Saudi Arabia prepared a list of 128 missing Bangladeshi pilgrims. Of them, thirty were found, while the whereabouts of the rest 98 could not be confirmed yet.
Saudi Arabia claimed the death toll in the stampede that took place while performing the ‘stoning the devil’ ritual on Thursday rose to 769.
But it is yet to publish any list based on the nationalities of the victims.
So far, the victims claimed to be identified through family sources are Firoza Khanam, of Jamalpur, Julia Huda of Sunamganj, Jahanara of Munshiganj, Golam Mostofa of Brahmanbaria, Kurmat Ali of Dinajpur, Tahera Begum and Nurunnabi of Feni, and Razzak and Hasina Akhtar of Shariyatpur. The Bangladesh embassy, however, only confirmed the death of Firoza Khanam. Firoza’s son Khandakar Mazharul Haque informed the embassy that she will be buried in Saudi Arabia.
