Govt not giving venue for council session: Khaleda

????????????????????????????????????

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday said that the government was not providing the party with a venue for its national council session but claiming that they would not obstruct the council session.
She asked the government where her party would hold the council session, at her house or her office.
Khaleda came up with the remarks while exchanging views with leaders of Jatiyatabadi Tati Dal at her Gulshan office marking the organisation’s 36th founding anniversary.
She said now her party was busy preparing for the council session and strengthening the organisation and later they would go to people.
Khaleda said that now it was imperative to unite and awake people to raise voice against repression.
She came down hard on police atrocities saying that the government could not control the police as the police claimed that they protected the government.
She said that police were killing poor innocent people like tea vendor and rickshaw pullers for declining to pay money in extortion.
She said that Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League, Swechchhasebok League and ‘police league’ unleashed repression against people and engaged in extortion.
She however, did not blame all police for misdeeds but a section of police.
The BNP chairperson said none except Awami League was well and secured.
Khaleda said people of no religion were safe. She said that Muslims cannot pray in mosques for attack.
She said that there was no freedom speech, freedom of press and independence of judiciary. Judges cannot work independently, she added.
Khaleda urged Tati Dal leaders to engage genuine weavers in the organisation.
She said none should hold more than one post in the party and remain in more than one front to create scope for new comers.
Tati Dal president Humayun Islam Khan and general secretary AbulKalam Azad also spoke.
