Google’s email service Gmail, which recently turned 10, may soon get new features.

According to screenshots leaked by Geek.com, Google is testing new mail features designed to further enhance mobile user experience.

The key upcoming features leaked by screenshots of Gmail’s mobile app are new tabs, Pin and Snooze. It is expected that the same features will make their way to the Gmail website as well.

At present, there are five Gmail tabs – primary, social, promotions, forums and updates.

As per the screenshots, the update will bring travel, purchases and finance, which will help sort the inbox better.

“You’ll see these grouped both in the side menu and at the top of your inbox if there are new messages for those categories,” the report says.

The Gmail is also expected to replace the ‘Star’ feature with ‘Pin’ with the new update.

Pinned emails will remain on the top of the inbox, so that users can access them easily and do not have to search.

A toggle switch will be present on top of the Gmail mobile app; turning on the toggle switch will bring all pinned emails to top, while switching it off will put show emails in chronological order.

Gmail will also have provision for snoozing emails once the update has been rolled out. The Snooze feature will allow you to mark an email as ‘Read’ until a preset time.

Once the timer goes off, the email will appear on the top of the inbox as an unread mail.

“You can choose to snooze an email for a couple of hours or several weeks depending on your need, and you can snooze messages over and over again if you choose to,” according to the report.

The upcoming Gmail update may bring even more features to the fold, as the report says this is unlikely to be the final version of the build.
