Get united for movement after Eid for CG: B Chy

President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Friday urged all the opposition parties to get united for launching a vigorous street movement after Eid-ul-Fitr to push for restoration of the caretaker government system.

“All the opposition parties will have to get united within the upcoming Ramadan. A movement will be waged after the Eid to realise the demand for reinstatement of the caretaker government system,” he told a projection meeting of Bikalpa Jubo Dhara at the auditorium of Dhaka Zila Krira Sangstha.

The BDB chief criticised the Prime Minister’s remarks that the next polls may not be held if the opposition sticks to its demand for restoration of the non-party caretaker government saying her attitude is an ominous sign for democracy.

He said the next election must be held under a non-party caretaker government, no matter what the Prime Minister is saying.

Demanding restoration of the caretaker government system, the BDB chief said there will be no political instability and chaos if the Prime Minister announces that the next election will be held under a non-party caretaker government.

“The Prime Minister should play a heroic role by coming up with an announcement that the election will be arranged under a caretaker government,” B Chowdhury added.

BNP vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman and Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, among others, spoke at the programme.
