The mayoral candidates in Gazipur City Corporation elections were allocated symbols on Tuesday.
Six candidates are contesting for the mayoral position in the election scheduled for July 6.
Awami League-led 14-party alliance-backed candidate Ajmat Ullah Khan was allotted “pen-inkpot” as his electoral symbol, while the BNP-led 18-party alliance-backed MA Mannan got “television” as symbol.
Rebel AL candidate Jahangir Alam got “pineapple” symbol, while Mezbah Uddin Sarker was given “duck”.
Independent candidates Aman Ullah and Rina Sultana got “lock” and “butterfly” symbols respectively.
Returning officer Motiar Rahman distributed the symbols at his office around 11:30am.
More than 10 lakh voters will exercise their voting rights in the Gazipur City Corporation polls.
